Our designs are built on a groundbreaking 2016 Cornell University study by Kim, Song & Ashdown — the first to deeply analyze the body measurements of over 1,600 petite women.

Unlike traditional sizing systems that treat all petite women the same, we use research-backed body types to create garments that actually fit your unique proportions.
Based on a Cornell University study, petite women fall into 4 distinct categories, each requiring a different design approach:
The 4 Petite Body Types:
- Top Petite (30%): Fuller bust and shoulders, narrower hips
- Bottom Petite (31%): Fuller hips and thighs, smaller bust (most underserved)
- Regular Petite (24%): Balanced top and bottom, scaled-down proportions
- Plus Size Petite (15%): Larger sizes with petite height (often ignored by brands)

How is your sizing different from regular “petite” sizes?
Most brands just shorten inseams and sleeves and call it “petite.” We went deeper, because your body isn’t just shorter. It’s built differently.

How do I care for my Petite Aesthetics activewear?

Washing Instructions
- Machine wash cold (30°C or below)
- Turn garments inside out before washing
- Use mild detergent. No fabric softeners
- Wash with similar colors
- Remove immediately after wash cycle to prevent creasing
Drying Instructions
- Air dry flat or hang to dry
- Avoid direct sunlight
- Do not tumble dry or expose to high heat
- Do not iron or dry clean

Our anti-microbial Fabellux fabric means you don’t need to wash after every wear, unless heavily soiled. Less washing = longer-lasting performance.

How does the 3D body scanning work?
To create your fit avatar and get personalized size recommendations, you have two simple options both powered by TrueToForm technology.
Option 1: Manually Enter Your Measurements
No scan required. If you already know your:
- Height, Bust, Waist, Hip.
You can input them directly on our site to generate your avatar and get a recommended size. This is perfect if you don’t want to scan or if you’re shopping quickly.
Option 2: Full 3D Body Scan (Phone Required)
This gives you the most accurate fit and a complete avatar using just your smartphone, no app download needed. Important: You scan the QR code, and complete the scan using your mobile phone. (Takes up to 5 minutes to complete the whole process.)
Before You Begin
- Wear tight-fitting clothing (sports bra + leggings)
- Remove accessories (watches, hats, jewelry)
- Tie up your hair so shoulders/neck are visible
- Turn your phone volume up for voice prompts
Scan Instructions
- Start from your laptop or desktop and scan the QR code on your screen with your phone
- Stand 6–8 feet away from your phone
- Hold a T-pose (arms out to the sides)
- Slowly spin in place while following the voice instructions
- In just 10 seconds, your body is mapped and your size recommendations are ready
- Your scan is encrypted and processed only by TrueToForm
- Petite Aesthetics sees your scan data
- You can delete your scan anytime through your TrueToForm account
